Part 1 - Run a Session: RSVP, Cutoffs & Set Up Your Session

Written by Matthew Bremner

Before each session's cutoff, you can open it up and customise everything about it. Here's how.

Edit a session

Any time before the cutoff, open the session and click Edit setup to customise it:

  • Date and time. Edit the date and the start and end times for the session.

  • Session timing. These are the blocks that make up your night, like a warm up and your net session. Add, rename, remove or reorder them, and NetCaptain packs the rotations around them.

  • Venue, mode and nets. These come pre-filled from your training slot, but you can change them just for that night. Your mode can be Nets, Centre wicket, or both, and you can deselect any nets you're not using.

  • Format. Choose how the session runs. One group trains the whole squad together, the traditional style for many programs. Two groups splits your squad in half, one group batting while the other bowls, then swapping. Three groups splits your squad into thirds for a round robin, one batting, one bowling, one fielding, rotating twice through the night.

  • Batters per net. Choose one or two.

  • Bowling nets. Auto gives a mix of pace and spin through every net. Split separates your pace and spin across the nets. Manual lets you set each net yourself.

  • Mix grades. Spreads your grades evenly across the nets.

The RSVP cutoff

This is the point where your players can no longer opt in or out of training. Once it passes, availability is locked and NetCaptain builds the session. It's inherited from your training slot, but you can change it here, or reset it to the default.

Push Notifications

  • Every player gets a push notification 24 hours before the RSVP cutoff

  • Only players who still haven't replied receive a push notification 4 hours before the RSVP cutoff

When you're done, click Save session.
